      Students will conduct an investigation of a grassland ecosystem. The study will include a qualitative and quantitative plant survey, and animal collection and identification.

      This package includes indoor and outdoor sessions with the use of specialist apparatus, data collection in line with the biology curriculum.

      This session can be adapted to suit Junior Cycle Science and Leaving Certificate Biology, as well as Further Education Programmes.

      This session will inspire students to recognise the value of the environment on our daily lives. Students will explore the power of individual actions and their impact on the environment. This session aims to help students understand our duty of care for the natural world.

      This package is suited for CSPE Action project (Environmental Stewardship) and Transition Year students.

      Students will explore the delicate interdependence of living creatures, discovering the flow of energy and the role of different organisms found within an ecosystem. Students will learn about issues of social importance, such as the impact of humans on the natural world.

      This package includes a classroom presentation, group activity and a guided zoo tour linking the conservation work currently being undertaken by Emerald Park for wildlife.

    • Details and price

      This package is suitable for Junior Cycle Science with the incorporation of new Junior Certificate syllabus units (biological word) and can be adapted to suit Transition year students and Green School participants.

      Students will investigate the benefits derived from ecosystem services. The students will explore how humans can mindfully consume natural resources, can successfully conserve ecological biodiversity, and take steps at being more consciously sustainable.

  • How long can we spend in Emerald Park?

    Included in your package during peak season is full day entry to Emerald Park with unlimited use of the attractions. You must meet your tour guide at the designated meeting point 15 minutes before your tour begins.

    Please note: if your time at Emerald Park is limited then you may not get to experience all available activities.

  • What happens if it rains on the day?

    Emerald Park is an outdoor park. Everything will operate as normal for your tour should it rain. We do advise to bring rain gear and a change of clothes if rain is expected. If you come prepared you will still have a fun day out!

  • Do we have to pay a deposit?

    A 25% deposit must be paid within 14 days of booking and full payment must be made before groups are permitted to enter the park. All deposits are non-refundable.

    All school tours must be pre-booked.
